Oct. 10-19
Just about any weekend from March into December you’ll find activities through the region connected with wine. So the Grapevine seemed a natural addition to this blog. The featured event listed on here actually is for next weekend, when Sugarloaf Mountain Winery in Maryland holds its second Grape Stomp. They are planning it over two days, Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 9th, from noon til 5.
There will be food, tours of the vineyard and winery, wine tastings and a grape-stomping contest. Part of the tour will include the new tasting room and garden patio. Admission for ages 21 and older is $10 and includes a wine glass and five tastings. Anyone under 21 will be admitted free.
The winery is seeking volunteers to assist at the event. For that, you will receive free admission and a complimentary bottle of Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard wine. What will be doing there? Mostly, pouring wine samples. Training is provided. Contact Kathy O'Donoghue at ksodonoghue@aol.com or 301.365.5044 or call the winery at 301.605.0130.
